The National Parks of the United Stated are interlarded with roads. But rather than seeing roads as a disruption of nature, Timothy Davis emphasizes their essential role in the experience and history of the National Parks. Roads are the perspective of the visitor, and they are where nature and culture meet. Architectuur Centrum Amsterdam has invited Timothy Davis – a historian for the U.S. National Park Service – to talk about his book ‘National Park Roads’. The lecture will be given at the Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam, on October 20, 8 p.m.
