The John Adams Institute welcomed the Irish-American author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Frank McCourt, for the second time to speak about his novel ‘Tis. ‘Tis, the sequel to Pulitzer Prize winner, Angela’s Ashes, continues McCourt’s story, from his arrival in the USA as an impoverished immigrant to his eventual career as a school teacher. McCourt’s magical prose, with its singing Irish cadences, brings grandeur and beauty to the most traumatic events. He is a born storyteller, combining poetry with humor in concise style without once resorting to sentimentality or bitterness. Dutch writer Nelleke Noordervliet moderated the evening, which included Q&A with the audience.
