Following our event with Jerome Karabel and Alexander Rinnooy Kan on May 28th, Ronald van de Krol of the FD wrote an article (in Dutch) on the admissions process at Ivy League universities: “It’s become almost impossible to be accepted to a top university in the US. The strict and subjective selections lead to a race between 18-year-olds, in which brawn beats brains.” Additionally, Van de Krol also conducted a personal interview with Karabel: “The logical conclusion of the privatization of higher education are universities run for profit, and no-one should want that. Not in America and not in the Netherlands.” Read both the article and interview in the FD.
