Madeleine Albright returned to the John Adams Institute after her first visit in 2003 to discuss her book The Mighty and the Almighty, translated in Dutch under the title ‘De macht en de almacht’ by Anthos/Manteau. In this book, Madeleine Albright tackles the thorny subject of the role of faith in international relations. Albright rejects the notion of a ‘clash of civilizations’ and calls for America to take a nuanced approach to international confrontations. This was the first in a series of John Adams Institute lectures related to the US elections in November 2008.
